New Orleans Adds Reeves ICP to its Response Arsenal

Reeves’ newest product the Reeves Incident Command Post (ICP) Trailer will soon be part of the City of New Orleans’ Office of Emergency Preparedness response effort.

The City recently purchased four Deployable Rapid Assembly Shelter (DRASH) systems from Reeves and plans to add the ICP to its arsenal of mobile shelter systems. (See press release)

“New Orleans’ emergency sector has become incredibly integrated since Katrina,” says Mark Tallo, DHS Technologies director for Domestic Preparedness.

The Reeves ICP as used for homeland security response applications.“The system will be an added bonus, since they can use it in conjunction with the other DRASH shelters to further integrate all of their emergency response assets.”

The Reeves ICP is a unique trailer and shelter combination that allows an incident commander to mobilize a fully operational interoperable incident command post through which to communicate with other agencies during an emergency.

The interoperability of the system allows different emergency departments, such as the police, fire and public health to communicate with each other regardless of disparity in equipment or hardware.

The trailer is based on the C.A.M.P. Technologies RTV Camper trailer, but includes multiple upgrades, including flashing emergency lights, a working console from which to operate communications equipment and optional Internet and satellite access.
