Bioterrorism Response Team Turns to Reeves during Training

On November 5 the Sierra Providence Health Network in El Paso, Texas held training for the Sierra Medical Center Bioterrorism Response Team. During the exercise, which involved a simulated decontamination scenario, emergency response personnel deployed a Reeves Three-Lane Decontamination system.

Though the health network has long owned the Reeves Decon system, DHS Systems representative Kenny Adams attended the demo to better prepare responders to properly unpack, deploy, and use the system in an emergency.

The exercise was part of the training conducted every Tuesday by the Sierra Providence Health Network to ensure that the medical center’s emergency response personnel are ready to handle any critical situation. Kenneth Berumen of the Health Network explained to El Paso’s KDBC TV-4: “We need to know how to handle these patients. We can’t be learning on the job. We need to practice it and we need to be ready.”

With directors of emergency safety management, as well as local fire and law enforcement personnel in attendance, the demo also provided an opportunity for other organizations interested in Reeves brand products to see the system in use.

“We gained a lot of interest from groups throughout the El Paso area,” explains Adams. “Attending the demo was a huge benefit for us.”
