GSN Announces Reeves ICP as a Winner in 1st Annual Homeland Security Awards Competition

DHS Systems founder and CEO Jon Prusmack accepts the GSN Homeland Security News Award for Best Vehicle.New York, NY - About 300 government officials and industry executives packed the grand ballroom at Manhattan’s Roosevelt Hotel on October 27, 2009 to witness GSN: Government Security News announce the winners in 35 separate categories in its 1st Annual Homeland Security Awards competition. Among the winners was the Reeves Incident Command Post (ICP) Trailer by DHS Systems LLC, which was named Best Vehicle.

The Reeves ICP Trailer is a unique trailer and shelter combination that can be fully equipped as an incident command post, complete with interoperable communications equipment through which responders can communicate with each other regardless of differences in equipment and hardware. Though introduced just last year, the mobile command system has already been purchased by agencies across the country – including the Hamilton County Health Department in Indiana and the Westchester County Department of Public Safety in New York.

The Homeland Security awards were handed out at a gala dinner celebrating the outstanding achievements of security vendors and government agencies at the federal, state and municipal levels.

"The competition was stiff, and our panel of independent judges had to make some very tough choices, but we think we've identified the 'best of the best' for 2009," said Jacob Goodwin, the editor-in-chief of GSN: Government Security News, who oversaw the evaluation process. He encouraged everyone in the ballroom to consider entering the second annual competition in 2010.

All winners received inscribed trophies to honor their successes, and all finalists received attractive certificates attesting to their accomplishments.

"GSN was thrilled with the huge turnout we experienced at our awards dinner because it clearly demonstrated the depth and breadth of support for excellence in the homeland security community," said Ed Tyler, publisher of GSN: Government Security News.

During the dinner, the U.S. Airport & Seaport Police gave the Fred V. Morrone Nine-Eleven Award to Frances Townsend, the former chairman of the White House Homeland Security Council.
